Achimota Hospital Observes World TB Day: “Yes, We Can End TB. Commit, Invest, Deliver”
Achimota Hospital joined the global community in observing World TB Day on Monday, March 24, 2025. To commemorate this day, our hospital organized a series of activities aimed at raising awareness about tuberculosis (TB) and its impact on individuals, families, and communities.
This year’s theme, “Yes, We Can End TB. Commit, Invest, Deliver,” emphasizes the need for commitment, investment, and effective delivery of TB services to end the epidemic. At Achimota Hospital, we recognize that TB is a preventable and treatable disease that affects people of all ages, backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses.
Activities
During the week leading up to World TB Day, our hospital organized the following activities:
– Community Sensitization at Alogboshie
– Health talk at Kisseman Mosque
– Health education at Achimota Basic School
– Health education, screening, and sampling at the ANC and Diabetic clinic of Achimota Hospital
– Health screening and education at Abofu Presby School and Church
– Community Durbar at Las Vegas (Abofu) to commemorate World TB Day

We used this occasion to remind our patients, staff, and the general public of the importance of:
– Getting tested for TB if symptoms persist
– Seeking treatment if diagnosed with TB
– Practicing good hygiene to prevent TB
– Supporting TB research, awareness, and advocacy efforts
